Neighbourhood antics

Our resident Bower birds have been displaying in and around the bower that Mr Bower Bird has built under our shrubs.

There was a rival male who created havoc by pulling the bower to pieces, and pinching the decorations. But he must have been overcome, because this morning I've been able to take all these pictures without interruption.

First Mr Bird adjusted his interior decorating, then he called from the TV aerial. When the lady turned up, the displaying began. I was lying on the grass round the corner of the house, with the camera covered, and managed to get some nice pics.

I suppose the poor little lady will raise her chicks by herself after this!

It's lovely to know that we have so many birds that feel safe in our yard without the threat of cats.
