The Christmas spirit

I saw this gorgeous desert in a cooking magazine at the supermarket checkout, and it immediately put me in the Christmas spirit! I think I'll make it with sliced Mango, though. Fresh berries aren't usually good quality here in summer!

I also bought the Xmas ham and have put it at the back of the fridge for a couple of weeks till I start hacking into it.

Our resident Bower Bird has added a lot of decorations to his bower. The neighbourhood girls daren't drop their red hair-bands, lest he finds them to impress his lady friend. He can be a bit if a nuisance with his loud call at day-break, perching just outside our window. We can't have a sleep-in!

I've added a couple of pics of some beautiful trees that we had lunch under the other day. We took a drive just for something to do. Tried to find some wetlands we'd heard about, but got lost among the strange country roads and were pleasantly surprised to come upon this lovely grove of paper-barks. After our lunch we felt better, and found our way onto the main road and back home!
