So what next? Now you need to go to your email inbox. You should see an email from called "Account details for (Username) at Good Old Talk. It is a computer generated message, sent by "NoReply@Goodoldtalk.com , which means that you cannot reply to the email.
If you don't see that email, it could be because you had your email open already, and you need to 'refresh' (or 'reload') the page. Another reason why you may not have received your email from us is because you typed your email address incorrectly. So now you'll need to 'signup' again. Problems? Type your query into the 'Talk to... Us' button.
Click on the email from GoodOldTalk to open it. It will say something like:
Thank you for registering at GoodOldTalk. You may now log in to your profile
using the password: QhxrLDkoWe
Do NOT feel as though you need to write down this password, remember it, or anything like that. It is a nonsensical password, purposely made that way so as to be as secure as possible.
You'll see that, below this, amongst the rest of the information in black font, there is a 'link' in blue font. Double click on this blue link, (don't worry about what it means by 'copy and paste it into your browser') and, once you've double-clicked on it, you'll be taken back to GoodOldTalk, onto your profile, account information, page.
You'll see a message which says:
· Login successful.
· You have just used your one-time login link. It is no longer necessary to use this link to login. Please change your password.
Underneath that message, you’ll see some boxes. The important ones are titled: Account Information (containing your email address and password); Picture (where you can upload your profile photo); Contact Settings (where you can decide that you don’t want people contacting you via your email) and Locale Settings (ie your timezone).
In the first box, Account Information, you will see a field for you to type in a password. Choose whichever password you like. The computer will help by showing you the security strength of the password, and suggesting changes, however do not feel as though you have to take the computer’s advice, if you don’t want to! Just type in the password you want (and will be able to remember easily!)
Then you will need to type in this password again, to verify it. Please note: this second password MUST match the first password exactly, including any capitalisation, punctuation etc.
Once you have typed your password in a second time, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on the word ‘Post’. (Just above the google advertisement, left hand side.)
Congratulations, you have now logged in and changed your password! (You might like to write down your Username and password somewhere safe, just in case!)
