9 How do I get to other people's blogs? Once there, how do I write to them?
As mentioned earlier in this Computer Help Guide, anything you see written in blue font is a link to another page. This means that when you see the name of another User, written in blue, if you click on their name you will be taken to their personal Profile Page (or Blog). To do this easily, use the list of users who were most recently online. The most recent activity is recorded at the bottom of the home page - three in Blogs, and three in the Forums. The most recently online users are identifiable by using the 'Search Users' button on your Blog (or on others' Blogs too).
Each Blog has an identical setup, ie. you can read their blog posts, view their photos, and see how many posts they've submitted, what level they're on, and so on. And as a User visiting their Blog, you have different ways in which to communicate wit them. The first is sending them an email, the second is writing them a comment. These are explained below.
Sending them an email. You will see this button on the top right of their profile page. Clicking on this link will allow you to send an email, through GoodOldTalk, directly to the email inbox that they submitted when signing up. This means that what you write here is a private email, not viewable by anybody else in GoodOldTalk. If, however, you try to send them an email using this link, and you receive the message 'Access Denied - you are not authorised to access this page' then that means that the user you are trying to email has changed his / her security settings under their 'Edit Profile' page, and de-selected the 'Contact Settings - Personal Contact Form'. This means that no one can email them, and you will have to find a different way of communicating with them.
Writing them a comment. This is done in two ways - General comment, or a Specific comment on a blog post. To write a General comment, you will need to scroll down to the bottom of their profile page, and you will see a section called 'Comments'. This is where you can write the User a general comment - either on their blog, or just in general. Often Users ask questions of other Users here. To write a Specific comment on a blog post, you will need to click on 'Add new comment', directly underneath the blog post you want to comment on. In the window that opens, write in your comment and click 'Post'.
Congratulations! You have now found, read and commented on someone else's Blog!http://www.youtube.com/user/CeridwynBloxham?feature=mhum#p/u/8/NPiyKU3HKBY
