2 How do I Sign Up?

Signing up to GoodOldTalk.com is completely FREE. The way we here at GoodOldTalk make our money is through sponsorship - you'll see Google advertisements at the bottom and on the right hand side of each page, which, if you click on them, we make 3cents per click (or something similar, depending on the exchange rates).

You do not have to signup, to be able to read through / use the Computer Help Guides or to read anything in a forum (in Talk about... Topics) or someone's blog (in Talk about... Me). However, if you want to post comments in forums or on a blog, you will need to signup.

To signup, you firstly need to click on 'Signup', in the top right corner of the Home Page. This will take you to a window called 'Account Information' where you will be asked to type in a Username and your email address. Most people use their name as their Username, that way other users know who has written the posts. Some examples of Usernames are 'AlbertArmstrong', 'HazelImison', 'PaulineTimms' and so on. Others choose to have Usernames that describe something of their personalities, or are a little humorous, for example 'luckysue' or 'pipthebullterrier'.

Your email account is needed so that we can send you a password. This password is generated by the computer, and is sent to the email account you specify. 

Once you have entered your chosen Username and your email address, click on 'Create new account'. Congratulations! You have signed up!

Quick Review:

1. Click on 'Signup' on the Home Page.

2. Enter your chosen Username in the first field.

3. Enter your email address in the second field.

4. Click on 'Create new account'.
